On Friday, after discussions with Ukrainian President Zelensky, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that China and India could play an important role in finding a solution to this conflict.

Speaking at a panel discussion on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin named India, Brazil, and China as potential mediators. Putin said that these countries can play their role in resolving the conflict. When Putin was asked which countries could play the role of mediator in the Russia-Ukraine war, he said, "First of all, it is China, Brazil, and India - I am in touch with my colleagues. There is a relationship of trust and confidence between the leaders of these countries and us, I do not doubt that they will be genuinely interested and will help in the ceasefire."

In his conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky, PM Modi said that Ukraine and Russia should sit together and end this war without wasting time and India is ready to play an active role in restoring peace in the region. The Prime Minister said that India has been in favor of peace since the beginning of the conflict and would also like to personally contribute to overcoming it.
