Afghanistan : NRF fighters claim to have killed 7 Taliban terrorists
On Monday night, National Resistance Force (NRF) fighters claimed to have killed Taliban militants trying to capture Panjshir on the day the US left Afghanistan. They have killed seven terrorists, two of their jawans themselves have also been injured.
Fighters in Panjshir, who had taken up arms in front of the Taliban under the leadership of Ahmed Masood, had earlier claimed to have surrounded and killed more than 100 Taliban. The latest encounter took place in the midst of a ceasefire declared during the talks. Several rounds of talks have not reached any point.
Meanwhile, the Taliban had planned an attack but had to withdraw after stiff resistance. Significantly, the Taliban have cut electricity and internet supply to Panjshir. Former Vice President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh is also with the NRF.
