Minority communities and their religious places are being continuously targeted in Bangladesh. Violence has been witnessed in Bangladesh ever since Sheikh Hasina stepped down from the post of Prime Minister. So far, dozens of temples have been targeted by miscreants. In which temples have been vandalized and idols have been broken.

In Bangladesh's Mymensingh and Dinajpur, miscreants have targeted three temples within two days. In which the miscreants have vandalized 8 idols kept in the temples. Police have also arrested one accused of vandalism.

The police on Friday arrested a 27-year-old youth from Palashkand village for his involvement. During interrogation, the youth named Alal Uddin confessed to the crime. He was produced before a court in Mymensingh on Friday afternoon, after which he was sent to jail.

No case has been filed here yet.

In another incident, miscreants broke two idols of two temples in Halwaghat of Mymensingh. So far no case has been registered by the police in this matter.

The attacks on religious places are not slowing down, earlier on Thursday, Polashkand Kali Mandir Committee president Suwash Chandra Sarkar filed a case against unknown persons. Five idols were vandalised at the Jharbari Shasan Kali Mandir in Dinajpur's Birganj sub-district on Tuesday.

Attacks on minorities are increasing continuously in Bangladesh

Relations between India and Bangladesh have not been going well since Sheikh Hasina stepped down from the post of Prime Minister. The Indian government has warned the interim government of Bangladesh, especially regarding the attacks on the minority community in Bangladesh.

On Friday, the Indian government gave information on the issue of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that 2,200 cases of violence against Hindus and other minorities have been reported in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh will take necessary steps to ensure the safety of minorities. In 2022, this figure was 47 in Bangladesh and 241 in Pakistan. In 2023, this figure was 302 in Bangladesh and 103 in Pakistan.
