America's newly elected President Donald Trump is going to take oath as President for the second time on January 20. He is looking very active regarding this. Meanwhile, there is news that the Quad group of foreign ministers will meet on January 21, the very next day of the swearing-in. This meeting is expected to be held in Washington DC. Many plans are expected to be discussed in this meeting.

This could be the first meeting of Donald Trump's second term. Which includes Australia, India, Japan, and America. Foreign ministers of these countries are reaching America. Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is also going to America.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that four ministers are expected to be present at the swearing-in ceremony. Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and Marco Rubio, who will be sworn in as the new US Foreign Minister in Trump's cabinet after Trump, will be present. Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will meet all of them.

This meeting with the foreign ministers of the Quad countries after the swearing-in will be a part of the foreign policy of Trump's new administration. In which there will be a discussion on the work being done in foreign policy and relations. This meeting will be the first important conversation with foreign leaders with the new administration.

China has always been opposed to QUAD.

Quad, a strategic security grouping that was formed to maintain peace, stability, and freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region. China has always been opposed to QUAD. It is facing a major challenge from an informal, unnamed alliance led by China.

China is maintaining an aggressive stance on many issues including the South China Sea dispute and Taiwan. At present, China is leading an unknown group. This group includes China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

Russia, facing isolation from the West, particularly the United States and most of Europe, because of the war in Ukraine, is heavily dependent on China both economically as well as for selective arms supplies.

Iran and North Korea also find themselves under heavy US sanctions and are forced to depend heavily on China.

What is QUAD?

Quad is a group of four countries, which includes Australia, India, America, and Japan. The purpose of the Quad Group is to strengthen maritime security. It first started in the year 2007, but it stopped after Australia withdrew in 2008. It was restarted in 2017.

Apart from this, the Quad Summit helps India to enhance its economic and military capabilities so that it can compete with China.
