10 killed in firing in European country Montenegro, accused absconding

At least 10 people, including two children, were killed in a horrific shooting incident in the western city of Cetinje in the European country of Montenegro on Wednesday. Four others were injured and have been admitted to the hospital. Police have identified the shooter as 45-year-old Ako Martinovic, who is currently absconding from the police.

Police said that Ako Martinovic opened fire in Cetinje. In which the bar owner, his children, and some relatives of the accused were killed. After the firing, Martinovic fled from the spot. Police have deployed special forces to catch the accused in Cetinje, about 30 kilometers from the capital Podgorica.


Statement by the Prime Minister and the President

Montenegro's Prime Minister Milojko Spasic visited the hospital to know the condition of the injured. In view of this tragic incident, he announced three days of mourning. He called it a terrible tragedy and said that this incident has shaken the whole country. The country's President Jakov Milatovic also expressed deep sorrow over this incident.

Police statement

According to local media reports, 10 people have died in the incident, although some initial reports claimed seven deaths. State television RTCG and other media reported that the firing was due to a dispute in a bar. Police said that this was not an incident of gang war but the result of a personal dispute.
