Controversy over Navo Barmer Abhiyan in Barmer, councilors made serious allegations against District Collector Tina Dabi. Allegations of irregularities in garbage collection tender and promotion of philanthropists.

Barmer (Rajasthan). There was a huge controversy at the board meeting of the Municipal Council on Monday regarding the Navo Barmer campaign in the Barmer district. During the meeting, BJP and Congress councilors made serious allegations against District Collector Tina Dabi. The councilors said that under the Navo Barmer campaign, the Municipal Council is being ignored and public representatives are not being given any role in the schemes related to the development of the city.

How did this tender which was earlier 6-7 lakhs become 30 lakhs now

Councilors from both Congress and BJP parties alleged that the councilors of the Municipal Council are being kept out of the city's development works. Financial irregularities were especially found in the tender for garbage collection. The councilors said that this tender used to be for Rs 6-7 lakh earlier, but how did it suddenly become Rs 30 lakh now? There is a suspicion of a big scam regarding this increased amount and the councillors have demanded an investigation into it.

Tina Dabi launched the Navo Barmer campaign

Apart from this, under the Navo Barmer campaign, MoUs have been signed with philanthropists for the beautification of the city, which are not even being monitored by public representatives. Local leaders say that public representatives are not being invited to these programs, while these programs are related to the development of the city. Especially in the beautification of squares and roads, philanthropists are putting up banners of their names, which is being opposed by the councilors of the city council.

Is Tina Dabi just creating her image?

Congress councilor Mahavir Bohra says that this campaign is becoming a means of publicity for industrialists instead of the development of Barmer. The councilors believe that the purpose of this campaign is only to create a public image, while for this the local public representatives of the city are being sidelined. The question now arising in this whole matter is whether the Navo Barmer campaign is really for the development of Barmer or will remain a part of political and business publicity.
