In the video, Owaisi said, 'I would like to tell my Maratha brothers that Asaduddin Owaisi respects Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj a lot and will continue to do so, Insha Allah. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was not against Muslims. This is false propaganda of the BJP.' He said, 'When Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj conquered Kalyan, the daughter-in-law of the Nawab of Kalyan was brought before him. Then Shivaji Maharaj said that she is like my daughter-in-law too and sent her back.'

He further said, 'BJP people should tell me who was the law officer with Shivaji Maharaj? His name was Qazi Haider. When Shivaji Maharaj was told that he was Qazi Haider, a Muslim, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had said that the ability of a person is determined not by his religion but by his work. But BJP people play a different cassette.'
