Airport director Kuldeep Singh also says that due to low visibility, air services have been suspended for the time being, snowfall has also affected those traveling by rail. Trains running between Baramulla - Banihal sections have been canceled for today.

Talking about Himachal Pradesh, the team of Lahaul-Spiti Administration, District Disaster Management Authority and Lahaul-Spiti Police together rescued tourists and locals stranded in the area due to heavy snowfall on 7th January. There has been fresh snowfall on Shimla Ridge and Mall Road including Jakhu Temple. While this is a good moment for the tourists, the problem of the local people has increased. Snowfall in Narkand and Kufri has affected the traffic on the road and the supply of essential goods has also been affected. Many buses are stuck on the routes. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy snowfall in the upper areas from January 8 to 10. Due to this, the administration has issued a warning.

In Uttarakhand, there is snowfall in the high altitude areas including Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. After getting respite from the sun for two days, it is also raining in some areas. The Meteorological Department says that there may be rain and snowfall in some areas here, while a yellow alert has been issued for hailstorms and lightning in the plains.
