Red Alert issued for South West Bengal 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that due to the influence of a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rain is expected in South West Bengal. The department has forecast heavy rain or thundershowers in most districts of the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the Kolkata Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Jhargram, Howrah, Hooghly, East, and West Midnapore, West Bardhaman, Birbhum districts. 

Chance of rain in Delhi

Talking about the capital Delhi, according to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Delhi throughout the week. Sometimes these showers can turn into the drizzle and sometimes it can turn into light rain. During this, the weather in the capital Delhi will remain pleasant and the temperature is also likely to remain around the normal level.

Chances of rain in Bihar till October 7

The effect of cyclonic storm Gulab is also being seen in Bihar, there is a possibility of rain in many areas here. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of cyclonic storm Gulab, the monsoon in Bihar has increased for seven more days. Earlier, the withdrawal of monsoon was believed by 30 September but now it has been extended till 7 October.

UP may also receive rain till October 2

At the same time, a rain alert has been issued in Uttar Pradesh till October 2. There is a possibility of rain in many cities including Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow till October 2. However, after October 2, the chances of rain are negligible.

10 died in heavy rains in Madhya Maharashtra

The effect of cyclonic storm Gulab is visible in other parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai. On the other hand, incessant rains in Marathwada have killed 10 people and washed away more than 200 animals in the last 48 hours.

Over 1.56 lakh acres of crops were damaged in Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh, more than 1.56 lakh acres of crops were damaged due to Cyclone Gulab. According to reports, electricity poles were uprooted due to heavy rains in the state. Six people lost their lives in different accidents.
