This incident took place at MM Lawn on Buddheshwar Ring Road at around 11:40 pm on Wednesday night. The entry of the leopard caused a stampede among the guests attending the wedding ceremony and they started running here and there in panic.

Two cameramen injured

According to the information, the wedding ceremony of the sister of a person named Deepak Kumar was going on. The guests were busy eating food, while the photographers were capturing the special moments of the wedding on camera. Meanwhile, a leopard entered the premises from behind the tent. At first, some people thought that it was a joke or a stray animal, but when the leopard moved towards the crowd, there was a commotion. In this stampede, two cameramen fell and got injured.


As soon as the incident was reported, the police and forest department team reached the spot. The officials evacuated the premises by evacuating all the guests safely. While searching for the leopard, forest department ranger Muqaddar Ali was attacked by the leopard, causing serious injuries to his right hand. He was immediately taken to the hospital and treated.

The leopard was hiding behind the furniture

Forest department official Sitashu Pandey said that the leopard was found hiding behind the furniture on the second floor of the lawn. At present, the premises have been closed and a rescue team has been called to catch the leopard safely. The police and forest department have advised the people nearby to remain alert. People have been asked not to go out alone at night and keep doors and windows closed.
