Thousands of candidates appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination every year, but only a few of them are able to make it to the list of finally selected candidates after the interview. This is the reason why this exam is considered one of the most difficult exams in the world. IAS-IPS officers who have passed this exam say that to succeed in this, along with studies, perseverance, and commitment are also required. Today we are going to tell you about such a female IAS officer who is an example of this perseverance and commitment. The name of this IAS is Donuru Ananya Reddy.
Donuru Ananya Reddy hails from Mahbubnagar, Telangana. She secured the All India third rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023. She prepared for UPSC with all her heart for two years, as a result of which she secured the third rank in her first attempt and became an IAS officer. She got a total of 1065 marks in the examination, which included 875 marks in the written examination and 190 marks in the interview (personality test).
Where did you study?
Ananya Reddy has done her graduation from Miranda House in Delhi. Although she had done her graduation in Geography, she also had a good understanding of Economics. The most interesting thing is that she had chosen Anthropology as her optional subject, leaving Geography and Economics. While preparing for UPSC in Delhi, she lived in a rented house. During this time, she also took coaching. However, she focused more on self-study. She used to study for 12 to 14 hours daily and when the exam came closer, she started studying for even longer hours.
Virat Kohli is an inspiration.
Ananya considers cricketer Virat Kohli as her inspiration. She said in an interview, 'Virat Kohli is my favorite player and I think he has a kind of inspiration and a never-say-die attitude. His discipline and game are an inspiration for me.' She says that to balance her UPSC studies, she used to read novels and watch cricket.
