The incident took place on the night of 24 February in the Govindnagar police station area of ​​Kanpur. The minor girl is 15 years old and her father is a teacher. The accused couple had come to live in their house on rent some time ago. It is alleged that the couple deceived the landlord's daughter as soon as they shifted to the house. First they would call the girl to their room and both would talk to her for a long time. The girl's father told the police in his complaint that initially he ignored them, but later when he got suspicious, he refused to let his daughter go to their room.

The victim's father told that he searched a lot for his daughter, but when he could not find any clue, he complained to the police. According to the police, when the police reached the location of the accused, the accused couple and the minor girl were in the same room and were in an objectionable condition.
