UP: Came as JE and took away the transformer from in front of the CO office; Police did not even get a clue!

A shocking incident has come to light in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Here the police have exposed a gang of clever thieves who used to steal transformers openly by posing as fake JEs. The incident took place in front of Ambedkar Park in Civil Lines police station area. Where a 400 kilowatt transformer was stolen from next to the office of DCP, Civil Lines. This theft incident was captured in CCTV cameras, on the basis of which the police started investigation.

Police have arrested six members of the gang. These include Neeraj Kumar, Sartaj, Aslam, Imran, Salim and Bunty. Neeraj Kumar is the mastermind of the gang. He used to carry out the crime by introducing himself as JE of the electricity department. The gang used cranes and pickup vehicles to steal transformers. Police have recovered the vehicle used in the theft as well as the equipment of the stolen transformer from Bijnor.

According to the incident, an electric transformer kept at a short distance from the area officer Civil Lines office in the Civil Lines police station area of ​​the district was stolen. As soon as the officials of the electricity department came to know about the matter, they immediately lodged a complaint in the Civil Lines police station. Hearing the incident of theft, the police was also surprised that how did the thieves steal such a heavy transformer? The police took cognizance of the complaint and registered a case. A team was formed to arrest the thieves.

The police saw the CCTV footage of the incident spot, in which the accused escaped with the transformer by lifting it with the help of a JCB. On the basis of the footage, the police started searching for the thieves. Meanwhile, the police arrested 6 accused of stealing the transformer. The police also recovered the stolen transformer and two vehicles from the accused. Police disclosure revealed that the thieves had written a filmy script for the transformer theft incident, in which the thief introduced himself as a JE posted in the electricity department. He, along with his accomplices, had stolen the transformer as part of a well-planned conspiracy.
