UP Bypolls: By-election to be held in Ayodhya, rift seen in BJP; former MP shows rebellious attitude
Milkipur Vidhan Sabha: Awadhesh Prasad, who was the SP MLA from this seat, defeated BJP's Lallu Singh in the Lok Sabha elections.
By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP. Among these, the Milkipur seat of Ayodhya has become a matter of prestige for BJP. Avdhesh Prasad, who was the SP MLA from this seat, defeated BJP's Lallu Singh in the Lok Sabha elections. After the Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha program, this seat was linked to the BJP's prestige. Now after losing, BJP wants to win Milkipur by any means and settle accounts with the SP-led All India Alliance in UP.
Therefore, CM Yogi Adityanath's entire focus is on this seat. He is also visiting Ayodhya continuously. On September 7, he also attended a Shiv Mandir Prana Pratishtha program in Ayodhya. On the same day, another incident also took place in Ayodhya which is going to make BJP uncomfortable because the party is trying to recover from its poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections in UP by showing complete unity in these by-elections and winning maximum seats including Milkipur, but in Ayodhya itself, the internal conflict of the party once again came to the surface on Thursday and it had to face the rebellion of its former MP Lallu Singh.
Lallu Singh suddenly left the stage.
Actually, at this time BJP's membership campaign is also going on in the whole country including UP. Therefore, a press conference was called by BJP's state general secretary Sanjay Rai in connection with the membership campaign at Ayodhya Circuit House. BJP leader and former MP of Faizabad Lallu Singh was also present in that program but suddenly on Thursday he got up in the middle of the press conference and left the program. He alleged that "Mafia elements are present on the stage. I cannot sit with the mafia."
After suddenly walking out of a press conference organised by the BJP's state leadership in Ayodhya, he alleged that mafia elements were present on the stage, following which he had to get up and leave the premises. Lallu Singh did not name anyone directly. But, his gesture was clearly towards BJP leader Shivendra Singh, who was sitting on the stage. Singh told media persons, "Mafia was present on the stage and I can never associate myself with such elements. I have constantly fought against the mafia, as they exploit and oppress the society."
It is worth noting that a case was registered against Shivendra Singh under attempt to murder and Gangster Act and he was lodged in Faizabad jail in the year 2018. Later he was transferred to Barabanki jail. Shivendra Singh said, "Former MP Lallu Singh personally campaigned with notorious criminals and dreaded history sheeters throughout his election which ultimately led to his defeat in the election."
BJP's membership campaign
News is coming from inside UP BJP that after the completion of membership campaign in the state, there will be a big change. The district and metropolitan presidents of those seats where the party had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha elections will be changed. There are about 50 such district presidents and metropolitan presidents who will be removed. There will be a change in the organization on a large scale. The effect will be seen from the division to the top. BJP has divided the state into 98 organizational districts. After October 15, the first blow will fall on the district president and the metropolitan president.
