Before leaving the BJP, Tripura MLA Ashish Das on Tuesday described Mamata Banerjee as the real leader of the mother of Bengal, Maati Manush, and said that if she becomes the Prime Minister in the future, it will be a matter of pride for every Bengali.

Guwahati. Before the elections in Tripura, BJP has suffered a major setback. Ashish Das, MLA from Surma in North Tripura, on Tuesday announced to quit the BJP by shaving his head at the Kalighat Kali temple in Kolkata. After shaving his head, Ashish Das said that his only resolution is to remove the BJP-led government in the state. After shaving his head, he also performed a Yagya in the famous temple of Kolkata. The Kalighat temple is not far from the home of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

He said that the way Mamta Banerjee has won in Bhawanipur shows that one day Mamta Banerjee will take command of the country in her hands. The resounding victory in Bhawanipur will pave the way for him to become the face of the opposition parties. He said that Bengal had contributed a lot to the country's independence, but it has not been recognized in the political field in the way it deserved in all these years. He said that if Mamata Banerjee becomes the Prime Minister of the country, then it will be justice to Bengalis.
