After the drought of August in Rajasthan, there is hope of some good rain in September. The Meteorological Department had predicted drought-like conditions to persist in September after August. But the monsoon season is likely to improve due to continuous light rain.

From September 1 to 13, the state has received 25 percent (16.1MM) rainfall. Now a new low-pressure system formed in the Bay of Bengal will continue the rain activities in eastern parts of Rajasthan for the next four-five days. From September 15, there may be heavy rain at isolated places in more than 5 districts of Kota and Udaipur divisions.

Director of Meteorological Center, Jaipur, Radheshyam Sharma said that a low pressure area (low-pressure system) has formed in the north-western Bay of Bengal. This system is likely to become stronger in the next 24 hours. This system is likely to move towards Orissa, Chhattisgarh during the next two days. The monsoon trough line has also now shifted to its normal position and is passing through Bikaner to the low-pressure area.

Due to this entire system, a period of good rains will start in Rajasthan from 14th September. The maximum impact of this system will be in the districts of Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Jaipur and Ajmer divisions. Rain activities will increase during 15 to 17 September.

Apart from this, minor impact of this system can also be seen in the districts of Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions of Western Rajasthan. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon during the next 4-5 days.

Light rain in Baran and Bhilwara

If we look at the report of last 24 hours in the state, apart from Baran, Bhilwara, there was light rain at some places in Ajmer, Nagaur and Sikar area. Kishanganj in Baran recorded 20 mm rainfall and Bagor in Bhilwara recorded 18 mm rainfall. There was drizzle late night in Pratap Nagar and Sanganer area of ​​Jaipur.

16MM average rainfall in 13 days of September

If we look at the report of the first 13 days of September in Rajasthan, the average rainfall so far has been 16.1MM. Rajasthan average rainfall in the month of September is 64MM. Earlier last month in August, there was only 31 mm rainfall, which was 80 percent less than the average. In such a situation, it is now expected that there may be some decent rain in September.

4 percent more rainfall than normal:

If we look at the situation of the entire monsoon season so far in Rajasthan, there has been 4 percent more rainfall than normal. The average rainfall in the state from June 1 to September 13 is 414.5 mm, while 432.4 mm of rain has fallen so far this season. This season's rain quota has also been completed in some districts including Barmer, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jalore.
