The APAAR ID card not only saves the records of the students but also provides personal information such as their health details, weight, height, etc. That is why parents' permission is required to get an APAAR ID. This lets parents know which details of the child are present in the APAAR ID. Parents have to fill out a consent form to give consent.

  • First of all, you have to visit the APAAR website https://apaar.education.gov.in/.There, go to the 'Resources' section and download the APAAR Parental Consent Form. After filling in all the details, the form has to be submitted to the school where the child studies.According to the government website, till now more than 31 crore children have registered for Apaar ID.

  • You have to visit the website Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) https://www.abc.gov.in/ under the Ministry of Education. There, click on the 'My Account' section visible at the top right and select the 'Student' option. Then register on DigiLocker, to register there students have to provide their Aadhaar number and other details.
  • After logging into DigiLocker, Aadhaar details will have to be shared for KYC verification. Some other details like academic information, school name, etc. will have to be given. After submission, the APAAR ID will be ready.​
  • Again you will have to go to the Academic Bank of Credit website and log in. You will find the option of 'APAAR card download' in the dashboard. You will get the option to download or print the ID, it will have to be processed.

It is not mandatory for everyone to get an APAAR ID. However, many governments are encouraging their students to get it. There are many benefits of getting it, especially since the records are stored digitally, it becomes easier for students to get admission to new colleges. Since it will have records of the student's entire education, it will always be useful to them.
