Rajasthan Police solved the case of jewellery theft worth Rs 2.7 crore. The thieves were caught with the help of AI technology and 1000 CCTV cameras. Two accused are still absconding.

Churu (Rajasthan). A case of theft of Rs 2.7 crore came to light from a jewellery shop located in the main market of Churu district, which created a sensation in the entire area. The thieves stole Rs 17 lakh in cash, 1.5 kg gold and 2 quintals of silver utensils. To solve this case, the police resorted to modern AI technology, which helped in reaching the thieves.

Footage of 1,000 CCTV cameras scanned

On the night of November 30, thieves targeted Chhaganlal Soni's shop. They came in a car and reached the shop's terrace and broke the staircase door. Wearing masks on their faces and gloves on their hands, the thieves professionally committed the theft. After the incident, the shop owner lodged a case at Ratangarh police station on December 1. The police scanned the footage of about 1,000 CCTV cameras to solve the case. The team identified the suspicious car, but the number plate was fake. AI technology was used to correctly identify the face and number. With the help of AI, more than 200 photographs were sequenced, which led to the identification of the accused.

Car caught from Rajasthan and thieves arrested from UP

The team led by Rajgarh ASP Nishchay Prasad M arrested three accused - Bhagirath, Yadaram (both residents of Auraiya, UP) and Ajay Singh (resident of Jhotwara). Their car was caught in Kuchaman City. During interrogation, the accused gave details of the stolen items. However, two members of the gang are still absconding. According to the police, the same gang has also stolen 4 kg of gold in Bengal. This gang commits theft in a very clever way and uses fake number plates and masks.

AI technology has done wonders

SP Jai Yadav said that this case was challenging for the police, but success was achieved with the help of AI technology and police from other states. Now the search for the absconding accused is on. This incident shows the increasing role of AI in solving crimes with the help of modern technology and the hard work of the police.
