Police have arrested Shatrughan's wife, Rakhi, her lover Dharmendra Rathore and Dharmendra's younger brother Ankit involved in the crime. After which the three brutally killed Shatrughan by strangulating him with a muffler. The police have recovered the muffler, gloves and the mobile of the deceased used in the murder.

Deceased Shatrughan's wife and accused Rakhi had planning to make her husband die due to an overdose of medicine. Shatrughan was a patient with high blood pressure. At the time of the incident, Shatrughan's shouting woke up the daughters sleeping in the other room and the accused fled. But the shouting of the daughters and the people of the locality called the police. When the police reached the spot and started investigating, the case was revealed. Shatrughan was murdered on December 29 in New Haiderganj of Thakurganj.
