A Pakistani man has been living illegally with his family in Bengaluru, Karnataka for the last 10 years. He had even opened a restaurant by changing his identity. His wife is Bangladeshi. Apart from these two, the man's in-laws had also settled in India illegally. The police have now arrested all of them. Many shocking revelations have been made during the investigation.

According to a news agency, the wife of the Pakistani citizen is from Bangladesh and earlier they were in Dhaka. Both of them got married there. Later the couple came to Delhi in the year 2014. Then in 2018, they moved to Bangalore. Later his in-laws also came there. Rashid Ali Siddiqui of Karachi, Pakistan was living in Bangalore with his wife and in-laws as 'Shankar Sharma'.

Police said that Rashid Ali Siddiqui, his wife Ayesha and his father Hanif Mohammed and mother Rubina were living in Rajpura village in Bengaluru Outer as Sharma family. They had named themselves Shankar Sharma, Asha Rani, Ram Babu Sharma and Rani Sharma.

It is also alleged that the Siddiqui family was involved in converting nearby Hindus to Islam. For this, they were getting funding from Pakistan. Apart from this, many local Muslims living in Bengaluru were also helping them. This was going on for 10 years. But suddenly they made a mistake and after 10 years the family's secret was revealed. The police have registered a case against all four and arrested them.

Police said- Based on intelligence input, 2 Pakistanis were arrested from Chennai airport. They had reached Chennai by flight from Dhaka. During interrogation, they told that they were Indians but when their passports were checked, they were found to be fake. After this, when they were interrogated, a Pakistani family was found living secretly in Bangalore who was living there fraudulently and calling themselves Hindus.

Everybody was trying to run away.

Based on this information, when the police reached the family's house on Sunday, they saw that they were packing. Perhaps they had already got a hint of this and were trying to escape. But before that, the police came to their house and threatened them. They were asked for documents to prove their stay in India. Rashid then told the police his name was Shankar Sharma. He told that he has been living in Bengaluru with his family since 2018. But the police became suspicious of him.

When the police searched the house, they found Mehndi Foundation International Jashn-e-Yunus written on the wall. Also, pictures of some clerics were also seen in the house. The police were again convinced that the family was lying. They arrested the husband, wife, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. They are currently being questioned.

The family was also running a restaurant.

A senior police officer said, 'Four members of a family were living illegally here in the Jigani area on the basis of fake documents. They have also opened a restaurant. The police have registered a case against them. All four are being questioned. We will take further action based on the result of the interrogation. They have got identity cards made in fake names.'

What did the Karnataka Home Minister say?

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said, "How did they come? Why did they all come? All these will be investigated. If they were in India for the last 10 years... if this is true then why couldn't the intelligence agencies trace them? They went to the extent of getting (Indian) passports... so getting an Aadhaar card does not matter to them. They changed their names and were also running a restaurant."
