In a dispute between husband and wife in Mainpat, the wife killed the husband with an axe. The police have arrested the accused wife. The two often quarrelled due to suspicion of illicit relations and not having children.

Sarguja News: In the case of the murder of the husband with an axe in Mainpat of Sarguja, police arrested the accused wife three days later and took her to the police station. The accused wife said that her husband always suspected her of having an illicit relationship and also used to beat her. Both of them drank alcohol together and when there was a dispute, the wife killed her husband by hitting him with an axe several times.

Attack with a spear on the temple

According to the information, in the village Narmadapur of Kamleshwarpur police station area, Naihar Manjhi (22) attacked her husband Bali Ram Manjhi (26) on the neck and temple with a sickle at 11 pm on 24 December. When her husband fainted, Naihar Manjhi ran away. Bali Ram Manjhi died due to excessive bleeding. On receiving information about the incident, the police got the post-mortem done on 25 December and handed over the body to the family.

There was no child even after three years of marriage

Bali Ram Manjhi and his wife Naiharo both lived separately. After Naiharo absconded, the police were looking for him considering him a suspect in the murder at first sight. The police have arrested Naiharo Manjhi from village Kandaraja in the Mainpat area. She was hiding in the house of a Korwa villager. During police interrogation, Naiharo Manjhi told the police that her husband Bali Ram suspected her of having an illicit relationship. Even after three years of marriage, they did not have any children. Due to this, he always threatened to marry again.

The woman was absconding since the incident

On the night of December 24, a dispute broke out between the two over this issue, and she attacked Bali Ram Manjhi several times with a tangi. After the incident, she fled and was living in hiding. Surguja ASP Amolak Singh said that Kamleshwarpur police registered a case against the accused Naiharo Manjhi under section 103 (1). The accused was produced in court, where he was sent to jail.
