It took Tehsildar Ranjit Singh four minutes to cover a distance of 45 km from Jagraon to Ludhiana. When the matter came to light, the government suspended him. Now he will travel 530 km up and down from Patiala to Pathankot every day. Ranjit Singh is to retire on February 28. An investigation has been started into the matter.

Expansion

The Punjab government is also surprised to see the speed of Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh, who did six controversial registrations of Jagraon while sitting in the office of East Tehsil of Ludhiana, two weeks ago.

This speed of Ranjeet Singh in misusing

his position has also become the reason for his suspension. The investigation by Anurag Verma, a senior officer of the Finance Department of the Punjab Government, has made it clear that Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh has misused his position, after which he has been suspended with immediate effect. Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh has

now been transferred from Jagraon and Ludhiana East office to Dharkalan Pathankot. There he will mark his attendance daily at the SDM office and will have to send his attendance report to DC Pathankot daily.

45 km distance covered in four minutes

As per information, on 17th January, 6 registrations were done by Tehsildar Ranjit Singh in Jagraon. In those registrations, he got the pictures taken with the consumer within 7 minutes from 5.05 minutes to 5.12 minutes. Whereas, one registration was done by Tehsildar Ranjit Singh in 5.16 minutes in Ludhiana East office. That means the Tehsildar covered the total distance of 45 km from Ludhiana East office to Jagraon Tehsil office in just 4 minutes. Thus, he became the first Tehsildar whose speed is more than the world's fastest car Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute running at 500 kmph and India's Lamborghini Aventador LP Ultima car running at 300 kmph.

Suspension due to greed

This has been clearly mentioned in his suspension order issued by the government. It is clearly written in the suspension order that he has done such a thing due to greed, due to which he has been suspended.

Was to retire on 28 February, will not get facilities till investigation is done

According to information, Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh was to retire on 28 February this month. Along with his suspension order issued by the Punjab government late Friday night, the Vigilance department will also investigate many of his complaints. If he is found guilty, it is possible that the Tehsildar's problems may increase further. However, Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh will not get the facilities given by the government to a government employee after retirement till the time the ongoing investigation against him is not completed.

Tehsildar suspended, vigilance probe of RC begins

Along with the suspension of Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh, the government has also started investigation into the alleged misdeeds of his RC Manpreet Singh. A special vigilance team is collecting all the records related to RC. Six registries that were done by Tehsildar Ranjeet Singh were checked by RC Manpreet Singh himself and his seal and signature was put on them. The RC who stamped and signed those six registries without seeing them is now completely in the clutches. The deed writer who wrote the six registries will also soon be under the ambit of this case.

What does the Tehsildar say?

Tehsildar Ranjit Singh said that he did not take lakhs of rupees for the registrations done while sitting in Ludhiana. If there has been any transaction in these registrations, then only Manpreet Singh can tell about it because he had checked the registrations and had duly stamped them.
