Burned with acid in the middle of the road
According to the information, this whole matter is being told of the Kharagpur Society of Bidhanu, Kanpur in UP. The husband of Priyanka alias Khushboo, who lives here, died in a road accident in January 2022. After the death of her husband, Priyanka started living in her maternal home Bidhanu with her child. Like every day, she was going to work at the rope factory located at Samadhi Pulia at 9:30 am on 4 May 2022 and during this time a beast named Ajay, mad in one-sided love, came there and started pressuring Priyanka for marriage. Ajay, a resident of Kalyanpur Mawaiya, stopped the way and started proposing marriage to Priyanka. When Priyanka opposed this, he tried to grab Priyanka, but Priyanka was not ready to listen to him and moved forward. Frustrated by this, Ajay bathed Priyanka with a container full of acid and fled from the spot.
Treatment is ongoing
Regarding this case, Additional District Judge III Kanchan Sagar says that a fine of Rs 1 lakh has also been imposed on Ajay who burnt the widow with acid. This entire amount will be given to the victim as compensation. The widow's courage and bravery are also behind bringing the case to this conclusion. He further said that the victim had also given a statement in the court that Ajay's family members used to pressure her for a compromise. If she did not compromise, they threatened that if Ajay was released, he would kill her. But the victim did not step back...she stood firm. After this attack, she fought with full courage. Neither did she come under pressure, nor was she afraid of any threat.
Sentenced the culprit
Let us tell you that Ajay, the father of two children, who was convicted, was indeed a beast. He poured a container of acid on the victim when she refused to marry him. After this incident, the neighbours informed the police and her father. The victim was treated at Ursula and KGMU in Lucknow. ADGC Omendra Dixit said that the charges were framed in the court on 14 September 2022. Seven witnesses, including the victim and her father, appeared in court on behalf of the prosecution.
After the charges were framed, the court convicted Ajay based on evidence and witnesses and sentenced him. In the verdict after this incident, the court also said that the victim not only bore her injuries but also bravely narrated her entire ordeal by testifying in court. The victim will have to bear the burden of this incident for the rest of her life, therefore, the purpose of justice will be fulfilled only by giving Ajay 30 years of rigorous imprisonment.
