30 people died in the stampede
It is noteworthy that 30 people died in the stampede that took place late Tuesday night in Prayagraj, UP. The state government confirmed these deaths 17 hours after the incident. DIG Mahakumbh Nagar Mela area Vaibhav Krishna told in a press conference that 30 devotees have lost their lives in the stampede in Kumbh. Out of these, 25 people have been identified. The DIG said that 90 people had been injured in the stampede, and are being treated in the hospital.
