The app and website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) once again faced a technical glitch this morning (December 31). This is the third time in the month of December that the IRCTC app and website have been compromised. The disturbances started around 9.50 a.m., 10 minutes before the start of Tatkal ticket bookings. It is believed that this problem occurs due to an increase in the load on the website at the time of booking the instant ticket.

Due to this technical flaw, passengers trying to book train tickets faced a lot of trouble. According to DownDetector, around 47 per cent users could not access the website, 42 per cent faced issues with the app and 10 per cent could not complete the ticket booking process.
Data from Downdetector which deals with booking tatkal tickets, showed that the glitch, which started at around 10 am, led to login issues. This made it difficult to search schedule and fare information and there were also flaws in transactions. As of 9.48 a.m., there were no reports of any disturbances. The message on the IRCTC website said that the website should be restored within an hour. But during this time, users who tried to book instant tickets had to be very upset.
