Swati Maliwal Case Latest News:  Delhi Police has taken Kejriwal's PA Vibhav Kumar into custody in the case of misbehavior with Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister's residence. On Monday, Swati Maliwal called Delhi Police from the CM's residence. During this, he had said that he was beaten up at the CM residence. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal staff has allegedly scuffled with him.

However, this is not the first time that Arvind Kejriwal's PA Vibhav Kumar has been embroiled in controversy. After the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor scam, the Vigilance Department terminated Vibhav Kumar. In the year 2017, Anti Corruption Bureau interrogated Vibhav Kumar in the tanker scam. 

The journey from video journalist to Kejriwal's ride hand

Let us know who is Vibhav Kumar who always remains like a shadow of Arvind Kejriwal. How did Vibhav, who worked as a video journalist in Kejriwal's NGO, become Kejriwal's right hand?

Before working with Arvind Kejriwal, Vibhav Kumar used to work in an NGO of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the year 2000. Meanwhile, Vibhav's closeness with Arvind Kejriwal started increasing. Later, Vibhav also worked as a video journalist for the magazine with the people of India Against Corruption campaign. The members of India Against Corruption later formed the Aam Aadmi Party.

According to a report published in 'The Print' in the year 2021, Vibhav Kumar came very close to Kejriwal during the India Against Corruption Movement. Gradually Vibhav started being counted among the most trusted people of Kejriwal. This is how Vibhav Kumar became Kejriwal's assistant to Man Friday.

Vibhav Kumar like Kejriwal's soundboard

People close to Chief Minister Kejriwal say that Vibhav Kumar is like the sound board of Kejriwal. Vibhav Kumar also ensures that Kejriwal takes his medicines on time. During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal had severe toothache. Kejriwal wanted to cancel the Punjab tour. But Vibhav Kumar ensured that Kejriwal was given food immediately so that he could take his medicines. Party sources claim that Vibhav Kumar has been working as a bridge between Kejriwal and others for a long time. 

Vibhav Kumar is facing a money laundering probe as well as an ED probe into alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board. In February 2024, ED had raided 12 places. People associated with Vibhav Kumar were also involved in these raids. Last month also the investigating agency had questioned Vibhav Kumar regarding product policy.

Bibhav Kumar also filed a complaint

Bibhav Kumar, accused of assault and PA of Arvind Kejriwal, has filed a counter-complaint against Swati Maliwal. According to the complaint copy shared on Aam Aadmi Party's social media platform X, Bibhav has said that Swati Maliwal forcefully entered the CM residence and when stopped, created a ruckus and abused the staff.
