Sudan Crisis: The first batch of 278 Indians stranded in Sudan leave for Jeddah under Operation Kaveri

The African country Sudan is going through its civil war day by day and the situation is that there the country's army and paramilitary groups are fighting among themselves. It is also affecting other foreign nationals living there. The situation has become so bad that dead bodies are lying on the streets. In such a situation, many citizens of India are also stranded there.

Here, the Government of India has launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate the stranded Indians from Sudan. Under which the first batch of citizens of India has left for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on an Indian Navy ship. The Ministry of External Affairs has given information regarding this.

India launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate its citizens from violence-torn Sudan. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted, “The first batch of Indians stranded in Sudan left under Operation Kaveri. INS Sumedha is on its way from Port Sudan to Jeddah with 278 people on board.
