Stone pelting on people returning from Hanuman Chalisa recitation in Bihar, internet shut down: Eyewitnesses said the attack happened near a mosque

While returning after taking the prasad, suddenly stone pelting started a little distance away from the mosque. The car was damaged. Slogans of Allahu Akbar were being raised there."

In Jamui, Bihar, Hindus returning after reciting Hanuman Chalisa were attacked. The mob surrounded the convoy of Hindus and attacked them and pelted them with bricks and stones. They broke many vehicles. Hindu activists have said that the attackers were Muslims. Women have also been injured in this attack. Police officials have reached the spot after this incident. Internet has been shut down in Jamui. Police have also arrested some people.


According to media reports, workers of Hindu Swabhiman Sangathan had gone to Baliyadih village of Jamui on Sunday (16 February 2025) to recite Hanuman Chalisa. When these workers returned after reciting Hanuman Chalisa, a mob attacked their vehicles near the mosque.

This attack took place while they were passing through a Muslim dominated area of ​​the village. The attacking mob broke the windows of their vehicles and threw bricks and stones. In the attack, about 10 activists including the district president of Hindu Swabhiman Sangathan Nitish Kumar and Hindu activist Khushboo Pandey were seriously injured.


According to News from Bihar, women and children were also involved in the attack in Baliyadih village. An activist injured in the attack said, "We were returning after reciting Hanuman Chalisa, when 300-400 people attacked us." Another activist said that in the Muslim area, they were pelted with stones without any reason and vehicles were vandalized.

Khushboo Pandey, who was injured in the attack, said, “There was a Hanuman Chalisa program in the Bhaleeshwar Nath temple in Baliyadih village. Khushboo Pandey said that there was a plan to find and kill her and there was talk of attacking the police as well. It is said that Hindu activists were stuck in the area for several hours. Some videos of the incident are also going viral on social media. Stone pelting can be seen in these videos.


Negligence on the part of local police personnel has also come to light. However, the police force that reached the spot has restored peace. The police has also shut down the internet to prevent rumours from spreading in Jamui. Jamui SP Madan Kumar Anand has given information about this action.

He said, “After sloganeering against the people returning after reciting Hanuman Chalisa, the police party did not inform the higher authorities. They tried to handle the matter on their own and even talked about changing the route. We have asked them for an explanation and have also suspended them.”


The police have registered a case after this incident. In this, 8 people have been named and 50 people have been made accused as unidentified. The police has also arrested 9 miscreants while taking action. A large number of police force has been deployed to maintain peace in the village.
