A woman from Swaroop Nagar police station area was married to a property dealer from Kalyanpur in 2014. The girl's side gave more dowry than their means in the marriage, but despite this, the husband and brother-in-law started demanding additional dowry. According to the woman, she started being tortured mentally and physically from the second day of marriage.
