Signs of the third wave of Corona : ICMR said – a village, tehsil or entire district may be in danger
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has made it clear that there should not be a wait of two to three months amidst the differing opinions of infectious disease experts and experts in mathematical models regarding the third wave of the corona epidemic. There are signs of a wave. It is definitely that this time the third wave of corona can be seen not in the whole country, but at the regional level. This regional level can be a village, tehsil, or even the whole district.
More danger in Kerala and Mizoram
Dr. Samiran Panda, Head of Infectious Diseases, ICMR says, if there is a spurt in cases of new infections in an area continuously for two weeks and the number of patients in hospitals is increasing, then it is the biggest sign of a new wave.
At present, a similar situation prevails in 14 districts of Kerala, but nothing can be said about the third wave as the second wave was also delayed here. Kerala and Mizoram are the two states where cases are increasing, and there are signs of a new wave.
Dr. Samiran Panda says that the scope of the third wave depends on the behavior of the people. Festivals have already started in the country and crowds of people help in spreading the infection. If covid vigilance rules are not followed in festivals then we can get many super spreaders. He emphasized that the third wave is likely to be weaker than the second. States that had fewer cases during the second wave should complete vaccination as soon as possible, where the new wave is more likely to be severe.
