The Dalai Lama's shocking video, which shows him kissing the young boy on the lips, has gone massively viral on social media, triggering a wave of outrage from netizens. Several Twitter users are also demanding the authorities to take action against the Tibetan spiritual leader.
The now-viral video shows the Dalai Lama kissing a child on the lips as the child leans forward to seek the spiritual leader's blessing. Seconds later, the Dalai Lama can be seen sticking out his tongue, asking the minor boy, "Can you suck my tongue".
The young boy can be seen leaning forward hesitantly as the Dalai Lama sticks out his tongue at him and the video cuts off after a few seconds. Social media reports are claiming that the minor boy seen in the video is of Indian origin.
Netizens came forward to slam the Dalai Lama for his actions. One Twitter user said, "Shocked to see this performance by the #DalaiLama. He's had to apologize for his sexist comments before. But asking a little kid to suck my tongue is disgusting."
Twitter users described the Dalai Lama's actions as "scary", "repulsive" and "disgusting" behavior, citing the video as an example of "pedophilia". Many have expressed utter outrage over the now-viral video, urging authorities to invoke the POCSO Act.
It comes years after the Dalai Lama sparked a controversy by saying that if a woman is next in line for his position, she should be "attractive". Following the backlash, the spiritual leader apologized for his remarks.
