Same sex marriage: Gay marriages did not get validity from the Supreme Court, the court said – jurisdiction of the legislature

The Supreme Court has given a big decision regarding the demand for recognition of gay marriages. After this decision, people doing gay marriages have got a shock. While hearing this case, the Supreme Court said that gay marriage is not a fundamental right. The court said that this is the jurisdiction of the legislature.
The Constitution bench of the Supreme Court gave this decision by 3-2. While delivering the verdict on same sex marriage, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that the Supreme Court cannot strike down the provisions of the Special Marriage Act.
While giving his verdict the CJI refused to recognize gay marriage. He said that in his opinion Parliament should decide on whether to recognize gay marriage. He also issued several guidelines to the Center and police forces to prevent discrimination against the gay community.
