Rajasthan Panchayat Elections-2021: 65.88 percent voting took place in the second phase
In six districts of Rajasthan, 65.88 percent voter turnout was recorded in the second phase of elections for Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members on Sunday.
State Election Commission Commissioner PS Mehra has given this information. He said that voting was conducted on Sunday for 536 members of 28 Panchayat Samitis and their respective Zilla Parishad members in six districts of Rajasthan. In this, maximum voting took place in the Jodhpur district.
77.02 percent of voters exercised their franchise in Au Panchayat Samiti of Jodhpur. It is noteworthy that in the second phase, 10 Panchayat Samiti members have already been elected unopposed.
State Election Commission Commissioner PS Mehra said that out of 25 lakh 60 thousand 153 voters, 16 lakh 86 thousand 502 voters exercised their franchise in 3459 polling stations in the second phase.
After the completion of all the phases of polling, the counting of votes will be done at the district headquarters.
He said that the third and final phase of polling would be conducted on September 1 while the counting of votes for all the three phases would be held on September 4 at the district headquarters.
