Rajasthan Assembly by-election 2021: 16 candidates will try their luck in the electoral fray


The fate of 16 candidates will be decided in the by-elections to be held for the Vallabhnagar and Dhariyavad assembly seats in Rajasthan. After scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations, now the same number of candidates are left in the electoral fray. There are 9 candidates from the Vallabhnagar assembly seat and 7 candidates from the Dhariyavad seat.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta has given this information. He said that with the issuance of notification on October 1, the process of filing nomination papers had started. Till October 8, a total of 29 candidates filed 43 nomination papers. During scrutiny, nomination papers of 6 candidates were rejected due to security deposit, Form A and B to be given by the party, number of proposers, and other reasons. In this way, the nominations of a total of 23 candidates were found correct.

On Wednesday, the last day of withdrawal of nominations, 7 candidates withdrew their names. In this way, 16 candidates will try their luck in both assemblies.

It is worth mentioning that the voting in both assemblies will be held on October 30 from 7 am to 6 pm, while the counting of votes will be done on November 2. A total of 5 lakh 11 thousand 455 voters will be able to exercise their franchise in both the assemblies.
