Rajasthan: Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria made this appeal to the farmers
The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan is making continuous efforts to improve the DAP supply in the state. Giving information about this, Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria has appealed to the farmers to use Single Super Phosphate (SSP) and NPK as an alternative.
Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria said that the supply of DAP fertilizer in our country is largely dependent on imports. Due to low imports this year, the gap between demand and supply of DAP has widened across the country, affecting Rajasthan along with other states.
From April to September this year, the Central Government supplied only 3.07 lakh metric tonnes of DAP against the demand of 4.50 lakh metric tonnes in the state. Also, against the demand of 1.50 lakh metric tonnes in October, 68 thousand metric tonnes of DAP have been approved. This has led to a shortage of DAP in the state.
The State Government is making continuous efforts to improve the supply of DAP. The Agriculture Minister informed that the Agriculture Department is advising the farmers to use alternate phosphatic fertilizers Single Super Phosphate (SSP) and NPK, to avoid possible losses due to deficiency of DAP.
