The petition challenging the decision of the Surat Sessions Court in the defamation case of Congress leader and former MP Rahul Gandhi will now be heard in the Gujarat High Court. Another Justice Hemant M Prachchak will hear the matter. A hearing is to be held in the court today in this matter.

Let us tell you that on April 20, the Surat court refused to stay the sentence while giving him bail in the defamation case regarding Modi's surname. A petition was filed in the High Court by Rahul Gandhi challenging the order of the Sessions Court of Surat.

For information, let us tell you that on March 23, the Metropolitan Magistrate's court in Surat convicted Rahul Gandhi in the Modi surname case and sentenced him to two years in jail. Following the court's decision, Rahul Gandhi's membership was terminated from the Parliament.
