On the occasion of Republic Day, some people vandalised the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the Town Hall in Amritsar. After this, politics has started on this issue. From BJP to Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, everyone has condemned it.

Delhi Congress leader and candidate from New Delhi, Sandeep Dixit said about this matter, this is a very serious matter and it directly shows that on a day like 26 January, when it is believed that there are strict security arrangements, this has happened in Punjab where Aam Aadmi Party says that they have provided security. This is a very sad incident, we condemn it.

Attacking the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress leader Sandeep Dixit said, I ask the Aam Aadmi Party, where is your police? He also said, all the police of Punjab are roaming in Delhi, roaming here in search of votes. Even yesterday night we found two vehicles of Punjab Police. If you have deployed all the police of Punjab in the elections in Delhi, then it is natural that there will be no security there.

Congress leader Sandeep Dixit said, Arvind Kejriwal has no respect for Baba Saheb, nor does he have any sensitivity towards the public. He is only a vote-seeker who wants to win the election for any reason.

BJP targeted AAP

BJP leader Shahzad Poonawala said, people of Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party and India Alliance talk big about the Constitution and Ambedkar ji, but the way Ambedkar ji's statue was damaged in broad daylight in front of the police station in Punjab on Republic Day, that too with a hammer, shows that the basic thinking of AAP is anti-Scheduled Caste, anti-Constitution and anti-Ambedkar.

CM Bhagwant Mann ordered an inquiry.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also condemned this incident that took place in Amritsar, Punjab. Posting on social media handle X, he said, the incident of breaking the statue of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ji on the heritage street of Sri Amritsar Sahib is highly condemnable and no one will be forgiven for this incident. Whoever is responsible for this incident, he will get the harshest punishment. No one will be allowed to break the brotherhood and unity of Punjab. Instructions have been issued to the administration to investigate this and take strict action against the culprits.

Regarding this incident, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has also posted on her social media handle X and put forward five points. She posted, "The attempt to vandalise the statue of the Constitution maker Param Pujya Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar installed in Heritage Street near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab and to set fire near the Constitution book there is shameful. Any amount of condemnation of such an incident caused by government negligence is less."

BSP leader Mayawati said, the AAP government in Punjab should take this sad and unpleasant incident very seriously and take immediate strict legal action against such anti-social elements so that such sad and tension-creating incidents do not recur in future. At a time when the whole country was celebrating the 76th Republic Day yesterday on the historic day of the implementation of Baba Saheb's Constitution, this disrespect to the statue of Constitution maker Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar is a matter of great shame especially for the AAP party and its government.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing

After this incident, Punjab police has come into action, CM Bhagwant Mann has also ordered an investigation. According to AIG Jagjit Singh Walia, the police have arrested the accused youths and registered a case. This incident is being investigated seriously.
