Prajwal Revanna Case Sex Scandal:  Janata Dal (S) i.e. JDS patron HD Deve Gowda, breaking his silence on sexual harassment allegations against his grandson and MP Prajwal Revanna, on Saturday said that if he is found guilty, action will be taken against him. But he has no objection. However, Deve Gowda, who turned 92 on Saturday, said the cases against his son and JD(S) MLA HD Revanna were 'fabricated', but refrained from commenting further as the matter was sub-judice. Revanna is facing charges of sexual assault and kidnapping of a woman. 

Appeal to workers

Recently, Gowda had announced his decision not to celebrate his birthday and had requested well-wishers and party workers to wish him from wherever they are.

Deve Gowda said, 'I do not want to comment on the things going on in the court regarding Revanna. Prajwal has gone abroad, in this regard Kumaraswamy (Gowda's second son and JD(S) state unit chief) has said on behalf of our family that the government must take action as per the law of the country.

Addressing reporters, former Prime Minister Deve Gowda said, 'Many people are involved in this (sexual exploitation case), I do not want to take anyone's name. Kumaraswamy has said that action should be taken against all those who are involved in this matter. The affected women should get justice and compensation.

He said, 'We have no objection to action against Prajwal. But people have come to know (the facts) about the allegations made against Revanna and how the case has been fabricated.

Prajwal (33), the sitting MP from Hassan Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka, is facing several cases of sexual harassment of women. He is also the joint candidate of BJP-Janata Dal (S) in this Lok Sabha election from Hassan's seat where voting was held on April 26.

Prajwal reportedly left for Germany on April 27 and is still absconding. To bring him back, an 'Interpol Blue Corner' notice has been issued against Prajwal.

Asked if it was a conspiracy to politically defame his family, Gowda said, 'It is true... Whatever has happened, many people are involved in it, I will not take names. Kumaraswamy will tell what action needs to be taken.

Accusations against Deputy CM

BJP leader and lawyer G Devaraj Gowda had alleged that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was behind the circulation of the pen drive containing objectionable videos related to Prajwal Revanna. When asked about Devaraj's allegations, HD Deve Gowda said that Kumaraswamy would answer all these. Deve Gowda requested the media persons camping near his house to leave.
