AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is appealing for votes on caste recognition, but does not want to do justice to Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

PM Modi, in a post on "X" on Tuesday night, said the countdown for Telangana's BJP chief minister, who hails from a backward community, began from the city's Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, where he addressed an election rally. Responding to that, Owaisi on "X" also said that PM Modi had promised to remove reservations for backward Muslims, opposed the 27 percent OBC quota, and did not remove the 50 percent cap on reservations.

Hyderabad MP said- "The Prime Minister is appealing for votes on caste identity, but does not want to do justice to OBCs... When I say that Muslims are under-represented in Indian politics, I am considered anti-national and called communal. Modi is desperate and it is visible.

Attacking the alleged 'familiarist' mentality of the Congress and BRS, Modi said here on Tuesday that these parties will never make a candidate from a backward caste the chief minister of Telangana, and promised that the BJP will support the BC community if it comes to power in the state. A person will be made the CM.

He was addressing the 'BC Atma Gaurav Sabha' (Backward Class Self-Respect Meeting) organized by the BJP ahead of the November 30 assembly elections. “Coming to Hyderabad is always special and coming back to the city's Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium is even more special. I can never forget my rally here in 2013.

At that time, the journey to elect an OBC PM began. "Today, from this very place, the countdown has started for a person from a backward community of Telangana to become the BJP chief minister," Modi said on "X" last night.
