Taking an unprecedented step, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a special campaign under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana, with the objective of extending the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to the previously deprived farmers. This huge development ensures that the farmers who were denied the benefits of this scheme will now also get the opportunity to avail it.

Notably, the scheme goes beyond just covering marginalized farmers; It also guarantees that they get benefits from the previous installment. The campaign, launched on the crucial Wednesday, is all set to cover the entire state. Apart from registration and linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar, the comprehensive process includes e-KYC, land writing, and other necessary tasks. Once completed, the farmers will be provided with the full amount allocated under the scheme. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has confirmed the promise that eligible farmers will also get the pre-installment, which will give them a good boost.

The reach of the campaign spread across 55,000-gram panchayats in Uttar Pradesh is astonishing. To ensure that all farmers get the benefits they are entitled to, PM Kisan Yojana has been extended to many of these local self-governing institutions. In addition, a dedicated Darshan portal has been set up, which provides farmers access to various grants, registration services, and additional benefits. This far-reaching campaign will continue till June 10, giving enough time to resolve any issues that may arise during the process, giving priority to the welfare of farmers.

Sadly, it has come to light that an astonishing 10 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh have been declared ineligible for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. These farmers involved in government jobs, pensioners, or taxpayers of more than Rs 10,000 will remain out of the scheme. After a thorough verification process involving 2.63 crore farmers, the ineligibility of these 10 lakh persons has been confirmed.

Since its inception on December 1, 2018, PM Kisan Yojana, the brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been instrumental in empowering farmers. Under this visionary initiative, Rs 6,000 will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers. Amazingly, the 13th installment of the scheme has already been disbursed, amounting to more than Rs 55 thousand crore.

The ongoing commitment of PM Kisan Yojana to uplift the livelihood of farmers is undoubtedly commendable. By giving benefits to the previously neglected farmers, the government is taking important steps toward ensuring equitable growth and development in the agriculture sector. The massive campaign spread across thousands of gram panchayats underlines the commitment to leave no farmer behind.
