PHOTOS: 175 feet in height, cost of 147 crores, KCR will inaugurate the tallest statue of Ambedkar in the country today

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate the tallest statue of BR Ambedkar in the country today on the occasion of his 132nd birth anniversary. Its height is 125 feet. The parliament-like base of the statue is 50 feet high. In this case, the total height of the statue is 175 feet.

BR Ambedkar's grandson Prakash Ambedkar will be the chief guest at the event. During this, sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar will also be honored. BRS leaders, party workers and common people from different regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are expected to participate in the programme. BRS has covered the entire city with banners for the opening ceremony.

CM KCR said that installing Ambedkar's statue in the middle of Hyderabad city on Ambedkar's birth anniversary is a matter of pride not only for Telangana but for the whole country. The people of Telangana are paying great tribute to Ambedkar, whose Article 3 of the constitution written by him gave impetus to the formation of Telangana state.

The Chief Minister's Office said that the total weight of the statue is 474 tonnes. 360 tonnes of steel has been used to make the armature structure. 114 tonnes of bronze has been used for casting the statue. An estimated cost of Rs 147 crore has come on this.
