IMD Weather forecast: Talking about the weather of the country, there is a cyclonic circulation over North-Eastern Assam. A trough extends from North Bihar to Nagaland, passing through the cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Northeast Bangladesh, and South Assam. During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells occurred over southern Assam. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred over Northeast India, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Odisha, and Uttarakhand. Sporadic light rain occurred in Kerala and Lakshadweep. Due to snowfall in the mountains, the weather condition of the capital Delhi has remained fine for the last few days. Whereas in Bihar, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, there was a heat wave situation in some places and severe heat waves in different parts. Heatwave conditions occurred in parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, and Rayalaseema.

Heatwave alert: Avoid heat waves in these states today

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the period of extreme heat is going to start soon in many areas of the country. Under which the maximum temperature is likely to reach 44 to 47 degrees Celsius. Hot nights are expected in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada from 3rd to 6th May. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of an increase in maximum temperatures in Gangetic West Bengal, Northern Odisha, and Eastern Jharkhand. IMD has predicted that there will be severe heat in these areas till today i.e. May 3. The intensity of which is expected to reduce somewhat in the next three days. Whereas in southern Andhra Pradesh, severe heat is expected in different parts of the country for the next two days, after which heat wave conditions will persist for two to three days. Today, heat wave conditions may occur in some places in Bihar, Saurashtra, and Kutch. Heatwave conditions may occur in some parts of Kerala, Telangana, and Rayalaseema.

Probable weather activity during the next 24 hours

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in Delhi in the next few days, due to which the sky will remain cloudy. Today on May 3, the maximum temperature can be 37 to 38 degrees and the minimum temperature can be 20 to 22 degrees. Light to moderate rain and snowfall are possible in Arunachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. There may be light rain and sporadic snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh. From May 4, light to moderate rain and snowfall will begin in the Western Himalayan region, which will continue intermittently for the next 5 or 6 days.
