Lok Sabha Speaker: There is a lot of discussion on who will become the Lok Sabha Speaker this time. In the first two terms of Modi, there was not so much difficulty in appointing the Lok Sabha Speaker. At that time, the BJP had a full majority government. But this time there is a lot of discussion on who will get the Lok Sabha Speaker's seat. All kinds of speculations are also being made. Many people are giving arguments. It has come to light in many reports that both BJP's allies and kingmaker parties TDP and JDU have demanded this post from BJP. Whereas the BJP is not willing to give this post to anyone. Now all the speculations have come to an end. Let us know which party's candidate will become the Lok Sabha Speaker.

First of all, know when the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is starting.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced the dates of the Parliament session. On Wednesday itself, he had posted on X that "The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is being called from 24 June to 3 July for the oath/confirmation of the newly elected members, election of the Speaker, President's address and discussion on it. The 264th session of the Rajya Sabha will begin on 27 June and end on 3 July."

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had said on Wednesday that President Draupadi Murmu will address a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on June 27. On the same day, PM Narendra Modi will introduce his cabinet colleagues in both houses of Parliament.

Now know who will become the speaker.

According to news agency INS, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to retain the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. That means in the 18th Lok Sabha also, a BJP MP will be elected as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.

No one asked for the post of Speaker.

A senior BJP leader dismissed the news coming in the media and said that no demand has come from any ally party for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. BJP will soon consider this at the party level and after the party decides on the name, a consensus will be made on that name by discussing with the NDA allies as well.

According to sources, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns

from his foreign tour, the name of the new Lok Sabha Speaker will be discussed. BJP will first decide the name of the future Lok Sabha Speaker at the party level, after which the name will be discussed with the allies. If any suggestion or demand comes from the allies, then the BJP will again consider the new formula.

What is the problem of the BJP?

Actually, in the first term of the Modi government, BJP's Lok Sabha MP from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Sumitra Mahajan, and in the second term, BJP MP from Kota, Rajasthan, Om Birla was elected as the Lok Sabha Speaker. But this time in the third term, BJP does not have a majority in the Lok Sabha like in 2014 and 2019, so it is being speculated that TDP is demanding the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. In many places, there was talk of JDU also being elected as the Lok Sabha Speaker, but according to news agency INS, a senior BJP leader has dismissed these reports as mere speculations. Only time will tell who will become the Lok Sabha Speaker.

What is BJP's plan?

During the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha starting from 24th June, the BJP will also contact the opposition parties regarding the name of an MP from its party, so that the new Speaker of the Lok Sabha can be selected unanimously in the House. If the opposition parties accept the government's proposal, then there will be no need for elections, but if the opposition also fields a candidate from its side, then voting can take place on 26th June for the election of the new Speaker in the Lok Sabha. In both cases, the new Speaker of the Lok Sabha will take charge on 26th June.
