State Wise Muslim Population In India: India is a secular country. People of all religions here follow their religion with complete freedom. They go to temples, mosques, gurudwara, and churches as per their wish. But the condition of people following other religions in Pakistan and Bangladesh, two countries that were separated from India and formed in the name of Islam, is very bad. They are openly persecuted and their population is continuously decreasing. In recent times, the situation in Bangladesh has worsened. People of the Hindu community are constantly being attacked there. Temples are being demolished. Well, today we talk about different states of India. We are sharing some figures with you according to the total population of people following Islam and their share in the population of the state.

Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in the country in terms of population. At present, the total population of this state is more than 25 crores. According to the census in 2011, the population of this state was about 20 crores. At that time, out of those 20 crores, 3.84 crores were Muslims. That is, 19.26 percent of the total population. This is the largest state in the country in terms of the number of Muslim population.

State with 97 percent Muslim population

But, there is also a state in the country where about 97 percent of the population is Muslim. That means out of every 100 people here, 97 people are Muslims. The name of this union territory is Lakshadweep. However, the total population here is very less. In the 2011 census, the total population here was only 64,473. Out of this, 62,268 people were Muslims. Their total share was 96.58 percent.

After this comes the name of another union territory Jammu and Kashmir. At the time of the 2011 census, Jammu and Kashmir was a full state and its population at that time was around 1.25 crores. Out of that, 85.67 lakh people were Muslims. That is, 68.31 percent of the population is Muslim. In 2019, the Government of India changed the status of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir was divided. Ladakh became a separate union territory.
