Mother Seeks Help from Collector to Save Daughter from Trafficking, Immediate Action Taken

Tonk, Rajasthan – A distressed woman arrived at the office of District Collector Saumya Jha, pleading for help to save her 10-year-old daughter from being forced into prostitution. Overcome with fear and grief, the woman struggled to compose herself as she recounted her ordeal.
The woman, a resident of a village in Tonk district, revealed that she herself had been a victim of trafficking in childhood. Despite enduring years of suffering, she was determined to protect her daughter from a similar fate. She alleged that powerful individuals involved in human trafficking were attempting to separate her from her child, posing a serious threat to the girl’s safety.
Immediate Action Initiated
Understanding the urgency of the situation, Collector Saumya Jha immediately contacted Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikas Sangwan, urging swift intervention. She emphasized that any delay could put the child's life at greater risk. Responding promptly, the SP directed law enforcement to take necessary action and investigate the individuals accused by the woman.
Support from Social Organizations
In addition to police intervention, a local social organization stepped forward to support the victim. Additional SP Brijendra Singh Bhati confirmed that the woman had submitted a formal complaint, fearing that her daughter would be forced into prostitution. Authorities assured that stringent action would be taken, ensuring justice for the mother and her child.
