A shocking incident came to light on Monday afternoon in the Karimuddinpur police station area of Ghazipur district. In Karakatpur village, a married woman hanged herself along with her 16-month-old innocent child and committed suicide. The family and villagers came to know about this when the family members reached home from the farm and asked the daughter-in-law for food, but there was no response. When they went to the room, they saw that the one and a half year old son Rishabh and 22-year-old daughter-in-law Salita were hanging from the same noose. The villagers immediately informed about this on Dial 112, after which the police reached the spot and started investigating the incident.
According to the information received, Rahul Gond, a resident of Karakatpur village of Karimuddinpur police station area, was married to Salita (22) a few years ago. She also had a one-and-a-half-year-old son Rishabh. Salita took this horrifying step due to a dispute with her husband. This is being discussed in the entire village. Salita had returned to her in-laws' house in Karakatpur village from her maternal home only 15 days ago. She was married to Rahul in 2021. The family came to know about Salita's suicide when they returned home from work and saw that Salita was hanging from the noose with the child.

After getting information about the incident, there was a stir in the entire village. On getting the information, Karimuddinpur police along with Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Atul Sonkar also reached the spot and told that the deceased had been married for three years. Today she committed suicide along with her son. Panchnama of the dead body has been done in the presence of Tehsildar and it has been sent for postmortem. On the basis of the complaint of the family members, a case has been registered and further action is being taken.
The husband forcibly bid her farewell and brought her home
The parents of the deceased were also informed about the incident by the police. After some time, the parents of the deceased also reached the spot. The mother of the deceased Salita alleged that her son-in-law was addicted to alcohol and there used to be a situation of dispute in the family every day due to drinking alcohol. About 15 days ago, he forcibly brought her back from her maternal home. The parents of the deceased are in a bad condition due to crying.
