Missing after the stampede, but returned in a cool style
Khunti Guru, who had gone to take a bath in the Ganges on Mauni Amavasya, suddenly went missing. A day later, many people were injured and some even lost their lives in the stampede. The family and neighbours searched for him everywhere, but when no clue was found, everyone assumed that he might have lost his life in the stampede. With this thought in mind, preparations were made on Tuesday to feed Brahmins and local people for the peace of his soul.
But as soon as the puri-sabzi was ready, he got down from an e-rickshaw! Everyone's eyes widened on seeing him - some were angry, while others were overjoyed. According to information published by TOI, neighbour Abhay Awasthi said, "We had assumed him to be dead, but when he returned smiling, there was a strange mixed feeling of anger and happiness."
When Khunti Guru was asked where he was for so many days, his answer was very funny. He said, "I drank chillum with some sadhus and then fell asleep. Probably slept for several days." Later he went to the camp of Naga sadhus, where he ate food from the Bhandari and continued to serve them.
