Manipur: Violence flares up again in Manipur, 2 dead, more than 50 injured

The cycle of violence in Manipur is not showing signs of stopping, there is peace for two to four days and violence erupts again. This time, two people were killed and more than 50 people were injured in two separate incidents of firing in Pailel of Tengnoupal district of the state.

According to media reports, there was firing in the morning between a group of people carrying weapons and security forces in Pailel's Molnoi village. In which not only two people died but more than 50 other people were also injured. Seeing the increasing incident, Assam Rifles soldiers stopped the crowd from becoming violent. But some armed people in the crowd, wearing police uniform, started firing.

In this incident, an Army Major was injured by a bullet. Three other policemen were also injured in the incident. Security forces also retaliated. One person died in cross firing. To control the situation, Assam Rifles personnel fired tear gas shells.
