Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathod has accused Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge of lying about MNREGA in Baran. Rajendra Rathod tweeted in this regard on Tuesday.

In this regard, the BJP leader tweeted that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge was lying about MNREGA in Baran. Motivated by politics, he has made baseless allegations against the Central Government that MNREGA money is not being given on time whereas the reality is the opposite.

Even today, the Gehlot government is sitting on suppressing Rs 1000 crore from the Panchayati Raj Institutions out of the Rs 1500 crore given by the Central Government a month ago as material item under MNREGA and till now only Rs 500 crore has been released to the Gram Panchayats.

It has been the practice of the state government in the last 5 years that it has been releasing thousands of crores of rupees of MNREGA material given by the Central Government to the Gram Panchayats after using it itself for months. The Central Government had released an amount of about Rs 110 crore per day to the State Government under MNREGA scheme during Covid 19.

In the last 5 years, the Central Government has released Rs 42,991 crore to the State Government, which is the highest amount so far. Apart from this, about 40 lakh workers have completed 100 days. While the Chief Minister claims to spend more money in the MNREGA scheme in the advertisements, his National President says that money is not being given in the MNREGA. This contradiction is exposing the lies of Congress.
