Mahindra Thar Roxx Launch: Mahindra has finally launched the Thar Roxx in the Indian market. The base petrol MX1 trim of the 5-door version of the Thar is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh and the base diesel variant is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh.
The Thar Rocks has a distinct design that helps differentiate it from the 3-door Thar. It features a bold grille with six horizontal elements divided vertically, flanked by circular LED headlamps with integrated C-shaped LED DRLs.
The Thar Rocks features a thick front bumper with cornering lights, flared wheel arches, a rectangular LED tail lamp cluster, and a pair of LED fog lamps along with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel at the rear. The SUV rides on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
While the interior of the Thar Rocks looks similar to the 3-door version, Mahindra has used soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels. There is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the center and a digital instrument cluster of the same size. The higher variants are expected to get features like ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, power windows, a sliding front armrest, and ambient lighting.
The base variant of the Thar Rocks is available with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 160 bhp and 330 Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel that produces 150 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Thar Rocks has a Penta Link suspension with Watt Link and has a brake locking differential. Safety features like 6 airbags and ESC are standard in the base variant.
